The home of these coked-out sorcery dabblers is based on a house Andrew used to live in, in the hills of Oakland, California. The inspiration for this story came to Andrew when he was sitting in the hot tub behind the house at midnight, and a skunk waddled past him.

Please note, however, that Andrew bears no resemblance whatsoever to the boorish hot-tubbing cokehead dude in the story, and would certainly never disparage his wife's sorcery skills.
