This week's guest art is a portrait of our favorite therapist by manga creator, animator, and game designer Mayshing.

She also runs a second Bluesky account, Angel of Altabestudio, where she posts writing prompts for creators; if you've seen the collections of Nicky's Bluesky writing promt responses that occasionally show up on the Weird Luck Patreon, a lot of those writing prompts came from Mayshing!

We begin our exhibition of Weird Luck guest art with this delightful pic of Charles and Arok by D.E. Amon, creator of the webcomic Jalek and the Starbook.

Jalek and the Starbook features a mild-mannered professor whose life takes a turn for the weird when a strange unreadable old book mysteriously shows up in his briefcase. You can find it on various webcomic platforms, learn more about Amon's world here, and follow Amon on Bluesky here.

Not all of the guest art we'll be posting is necessarily canonical, but we like to imagine this snack break took place just half an hour or so before Charles and Arok's first appearance at the beginning of Chapter 1.5.

We've received some terrific pieces of guest art in response to the call we put out, and we'll be posting them over the next several weeks. We're still accepting guest art until the end of September. (Actually, we'll always accept guest art, but anything we receive after September won't be posted this year.)

For the next several weeks, while Mike finishes drawing Chapter 2.3, we'll be posting pieces of Weird Luck character art by artists who've responded to our Fan Art Challenge. 

Also, that Fan Art Challenge is still open! We're accepting pieces until the end of September. 

Chapter 2.3, "Breakfast," will launch sometime in October. It's our favorite chapter yet, and it will answer one of the most frequent questions we get from Weird Luck readers: Why the heck is there a 21st-century-style city in the middle of this chaos-warped nightmare wasteland?
