Way back in 2012, Andrew released his first novel, Weird Luck in the City of the Watcher––the first book in his City of the Watcher trilogy, and the first piece of the Weird Luck Saga to see publication. The second book in the trilogy, Time-Traveling Blues in the City of the Watcher, followed close on the heels of the first. (The City of the Watcher trilogy is currently out of print, but will be re-released over the next few years in new revised editions.)

Mike's first published pieces of Weird Luck art were the cover art for Weird Luck in the City of the Watcher and Time-Traveling Blues in the City of the Watcher. Mike dug the City of the Watcher story enough that he thought he might want to try adapting it into graphic novel form; he'd been looking for a good epic story to turn into a graphic novel.

Shortly after publishing the first two books of the trilogy, Andrew published a few of his short stories in the form of a series of small limited-edition zines bearing the title Weird Luck Tales. Mike decided that for his first foray into adapting pieces of the Weird Luck Saga into comic format, he'd adapt a couple of those short stories: "Coked Out Demon Worshippers" and the much shorter "Water Damage."

In 2015 (the same year Andrew released the third volume of the City of the Watcher trilogy), Mike and Andrew published the comic adaptations of "Coked Out Demon Worshippers" and "Water Damage" in a one-shot comic book called Weird Luck #0. By that time, Nicky had proposed collaborating on a webcomic. So instead of Mike adapting the City of the Watcher trilogy into an epic graphic novel, we ended up all working together on what eventually evolved into the current Weird Luck webcomic (which is also an epic graphic novel; each volume will be a big ol' trade paperback someday).

Weird Luck #0 is out of print these days, and very few people have had the chance to see it. So, while Mike draws Chapter 5 of the main Weird Luck storyline, we'll be sharing his adaptations of "Coked Out Demon Worshippers" and "Water Damage" with you, right here, in our usual page-a-week webcomic format.

Here's what to expect in the coming months:

October 25, 2022–February 28, 2023: "Coked Out Demon Worshippers."

March 7–March 28, 2023: "Water Damage."

Spring 2023 (exact date TBA): Launch of Weird Luck Chapter 5, "The Corvus Drive Caper, Part One" (in which we finally get to see what the infamous Smiley is up to).

As for the question of how "Coked Out Demon Worshippers" and "Water Damage" fit into the overall Weird Luck Saga, we'll say more about that as the stories unfold!
